Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a friendly and attentive server to provide a memorable dining experience for guests. You will take orders, deliver food and beverages, and ensure accuracy and timeliness in service.

You will assist guests with questions about the menu and specials, and help maintain a clean, welcoming dining area. Ideal candidates communicate effectively, have basic numeracy for payments, and can stand for extended periods while lifting trays up to 20 kg.

Qualifications

• Effective communication with guests.
• Basic dining room knowledge; wine knowledge is a plus.
• Numeracy skills; able to handle payments and operate POS.

Responsibilities

About the role

Provide friendly and responsive service to create an enjoyable dining experience for all our guests. The primary objective is to ensure our guests have a great experience and want to return.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome and greet guests. Make them feel comfortable and well taken care of.
• Inform guests of specials and menu changes.
• Answer questions about our food, beverages and restaurant services.
• Take food and beverage orders through the mobile ordering system or personally, and enter orders accurately into the POS system.
• Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen and bar in a timely manner.
• Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required.
• Maintain clean and tidy service areas.
• Monitor the guests' dining experience and respond promptly and courteously to their requests.
• Prepare the final bill, present the check, accept payment and process credit card transactions where required.
• Assist fellow servers as needed.

About you

• Able to communicate effectively with our guests.
• Basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures. Wine knowledge is an advantage.
• Basic numeracy skills and ability to handle payments and operate the POS system.
• Able to stand for extended periods of time, up to 5 hours.
• Able to safely lift and carry trays of food weighing approximately 10-20 kg.
