Job summary

Singapore National Eye Centre is seeking a dedicated healthcare professional to join the eye donation coordination team. You will identify donor suitability, guide families, liaise with MOH and eye bank staff, and support the recovery and administration of the donation program.

The role requires empathetic communication and on-call availability to cover donor screening shifts. You will travel between hospitals as needed, participate in audits and education activities, and contribute to public

Qualifications

• Degree in Nursing or Psychology or Health Sciences or Biomedical Sciences or equivalent.
• Counselling experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in emotionally challenging situations.
• Willingness to travel between hospitals for work purposes.
• Flexibility to work on-call hours as specified.

Responsibilities

• Identify donor suitability for cornea donation upon death, including medico-legal checks.
• Guide and counsel potential donors and families throughout the donation process.
• Coordinate recovery by working with recovery teams and supporting donor families.
• Educate staff, the public, and families on eye donation and organ/tissue donation.
• Facilitate logistics of corneal procurement with medical teams and stakeholders.
• Monitor data for audits and support program development and evaluations.
