Job summary

GMP Technologies seeks a Managing Director, General Manager to lead strategic direction and oversee large-scale IT and banking technology programs in Singapore. You will drive medium- to long-term strategy, translate priorities into measurable goals, and oversee growth initiatives across finance, HR, compliance, legal, and governance functions.

You will mentor the senior leadership team, manage budgets and performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and engage senior stakeholders across Asia

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Finance, Science, Economics, Commerce or related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience within banking or financial services.
• At least 10 years in regional leadership and strategic planning capacity.
• Proven experience managing large, multi-level teams of 200+ employees.
• International exposure with experience across multiple overseas markets.
• Strong track record managing large-scale banking technology programs valued above SGD100 million.
• Hands-on knowledge of core banking systems including Accounting, Remittance, Forex, Money Market, GL, MIS.
• Solid understanding of SDLC, change management, service delivery, project governance, and vendor management.
• Fluency in English; Japanese preferred for reporting to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and drive the company's medium- to long-term strategy aligned with the client's IT direction.
• Translate strategic priorities into measurable goals, performance frameworks, and annual operating plans.
• Lead execution of growth initiatives and organizational objectives.
• Strengthen finance, HR, compliance, legal, and governance frameworks to support IT delivery.
• Oversee budgeting, financial planning, cost management, and performance monitoring.
• Establish operational benchmarks, workforce planning, and capability development strategies.
• Guide HR policies, talent management, and organizational effectiveness.
• Ensure legal, regulatory, and compliance risks are effectively managed.
• Provide strategic oversight of system development, IT operations, and service delivery.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration through governance and performance management.
• Oversee project planning, governance, and execution of key technology initiatives.
• Lead cost optimization and digital transformation efforts with senior management.
• Foster a high-performance, values-driven culture and develop the senior leadership team.
• Coach and mentor senior leaders and support succession planning for critical roles.
