Job summary

STMicroelectronics seeks a forward-thinking Automation Engineer to design and implement next-generation automated systems. The role centers on Balanced Automation, blending PLCs and robotics with AI-powered reasoning and real-time data pipelines to drive operational excellence.

You will architect integrative frameworks, develop dashboards for KPI monitoring, and create predictive maintenance systems to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in electrical/electronics engineering, CS, or related field.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or C/C++ is required.
• Strong systems thinking and ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy end-to-end automation frameworks integrating PLC and IIoT systems.
• Architect and implement automation solutions bridging hardware and software.
• Orchestrate AI agents to assist existing tools and streamline routine tasks.
• Develop and maintain automated devices for machine and process monitoring with KPI dashboards.
• Implement machine learning–based monitoring for predictive maintenance to reduce downtime.
