Engineering Manager — Public Sector Platform Lead

Job summary

GovTech Singapore seeks an Engineering Manager to lead and grow high-performing teams, setting strategic direction across backend and frontend systems. You will drive technical excellence, coach engineers, and ensure sustainable delivery while aligning with government procurement initiatives.

The role requires strong leadership, data-driven decision making, and experience with public sector cloud platforms and Salesforce implementations. A two-year term contract may apply.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in CS, engineering, IT or related field.
• 10+ years in software/solution/system engineering with at least 6 years hands-on.
• 3+ years business analyst experience in software projects and Agile SCRUM.
• 8+ years in modern full-stack technologies with at least 2 years in leadership.
• Proven track record implementing Salesforce in the public sector.
• Knowledge of data protection regulations in the public sector.
• Strong people management and career development skills.

Responsibilities

• Define engineering vision, strategy, and directions aligned with goals.
• Collaborate with Product/UX to shape squad goals and delivery.
• Balance new features with sustainability, maintainability, risk.
• Provide technical judgment on design/architecture trade-offs.
• Use metrics to guide decisions and improve flow.
• Build and develop a high-performing, growth-oriented team.
