Job summary

Public Service Division invites applications for the role of Technical Officer in the School of Engineering. You will manage and maintain laboratories and workshops, oversee assets and inventory, and handle procurement to ensure a safe and well-equipped training environment.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent in related technical field.
• Previous work in lab, workshop or technical support environments.
• Experience with asset management, stock control and procurement processes.
• Knowledge of lab/workshop safety practices and equipment maintenance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain School of Engineering laboratories and workshops, including equipment, tools and training systems.
• Carry out maintenance, servicing and repairs of lab/workshop equipment and ensure proper housekeeping of facilities.
• Manage assets, stores and inventory, including asset tagging and regular inventory checks.
• Handle procurement of equipment, tools, consumables and training materials and liaise with vendors.
• Prepare and maintain laboratory and workshop training materials and equipment; support setup for practical training and assessments.
• Ensure safety regulations and institutional procedures are followed; maintain records for audits and compliance.
