EHS & Fire Safety Specialist

Job summary

BD Tuas Plant is seeking an experienced EHS professional to lead and support environmental, health, and safety programs. The role collaborates across manufacturing, engineering, facilities and QA to sustain safe operations and regulatory compliance at the Tuas site.

The ideal candidate holds an engineering/environmental degree with MOM WSH registration and FSM certification, plus hands-on experience with ISO 14001/45001 and incident investigations.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene or related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant EHS experience in manufacturing/industrial ops.
• Registered with MOM as a WSHO (WSHO).
• Certified Fire Safety Manager (FSM) and SCDF fire safety capabilities.
• Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 mgmt systems and audits.

Responsibilities

• Support site leadership in implementing EHS plans and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with functions to identify hazards and implement controls.
• Establish and sustain standard work for EHS processes.
• Lead or support risk assessments, JHAs, and safety reviews.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
• Track and close corrective actions from audits, inspections and risk assessments.
• Support BD Excellence safety practices and visual management.
• Monitor EHS performance indicators and communicate trends to leadership.
• Ensure compliance with MOM WSH, SCDF fire safety, permits and licenses.
