Job summary

Makino Asia PTE LTD seeks a Mechanical Engineer (EDM) to design, develop, test, and validate mechanical systems for EDM machines. You will support R&D goals by delivering high-precision, reliable, and safe designs that meet product and customer requirements.

The role requires collaboration with electrical, software, manufacturing, and application teams, thorough documentation, and adherence to QEHS standards. Some travel for on-site support and commissioning is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering or related discipline.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, precision machinery, and motion control mechanisms.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
• Travel for on-site customer support and commissioning when required.
• Experience with machine tools or EDM considered a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and evaluate mechanical systems for EDM machines.
• Support prototype assembly, system integration, commissioning, and testing.
• Analyze test results and implement design improvements to enhance performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, manufacturing, and applications teams to resolve issues.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation including drawings, specs, test reports, and change records.
• Ensure compliance with QEHS standards and Makino quality processes.
• Provide engineering support to manufacturing, service, and customer support teams.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
