Job summary

Makino Asia PTE LTD is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (EDM) to design, develop, test, and validate mechanical systems for EDM machines, aligning with R&D objectives and regulatory requirements. The role delivers reliable, high-performance, and safe designs that meet product quality standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings and specs.
• Knowledge of motion control and precision machinery helpful.
• Strong teamwork and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and evaluate mechanical systems for EDM machines, including motion drive systems, machine structures and mechanisms, as well as pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Support prototype assembly, system integration, commissioning, and testing activities during the product development phase.
• Analyze test results and implement design improvements or corrective actions to enhance machine performance, reliability, stability, and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, manufacturing, and application engineering teams to resolve technical issues and support cross-functional projects.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including mechanical drawings, engineering specifications, test reports, design change records, and technical documents.
• Ensure compliance with Makino's quality standards, engineering processes, and QEHS requirements.
• Provide technical and engineering support to manufacturing, service, and customer support teams when required.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, operational efficiency, and engineering processes.
