Job summary

Makino Asia Group in Singapore is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (EDM) to design, develop, test, and validate mechanical systems for EDM machines. You will collaborate with electrical, software, manufacturing, and application engineering teams to ensure high precision and reliable performance.

The role requires strong analytical thinking, reading of mechanical drawings, and a customer-focused mindset. Travel for on-site support and commissioning may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a mechanical-related discipline.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, precision machinery, and motion control mechanisms.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
• Excellent teamwork and communication; able to work in cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to travel for on-site customer support, commissioning, and service activities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and evaluate mechanical systems for EDM machines, including motion drive systems, machine structures and mechanisms, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
• Support prototype assembly, system integration, commissioning, and testing during product development.
• Analyze test results and implement design improvements or corrective actions to enhance machine performance and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, manufacturing, and application engineering teams to resolve technical issues and support cross-functional projects.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, test reports, design change records, and technical documents.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, QEHS requirements, and engineering processes.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing, service, and customer support teams as required.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
