Job summary

Standard Chartered Bank seeks a senior data scientist to lead AI/ML initiatives across Financial Markets and Transaction Banking. You will develop, deploy, and operationalize AI solutions using classic ML and modern large language models in a banking context.

The role requires collaboration with product owners, data engineers, and MLOps to deliver scalable, compliant data-driven solutions while mentoring junior colleagues and staying ahead of industry advances in NLP and AI.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in machine learning, data science or related quantitative roles.
• Proficient in Python with strong ML/DL and NLP knowledge.
• Experience with NLP/DocumentAI, Entity Matching, and fraud detection is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with stakeholders to identify pain points and gather requirements.
• Develop AI/ML solutions for business use-cases in collaboration with teams.
• Deploy solutions with MLOps and data engineering support.
• Stay current with DS/NLP advances and share knowledge across the team.
• Mentor junior team members.
• Ensure data quality and governance in analytics projects.
• Support risk management and platform reliability.
