Role Summary

We are seeking a principal-level specialist to lead complex digital banking initiatives spanning retail banking, wealth management, investments, insurance and payments. This is a hands‑on role combining senior business analysis, digital product ownership, API solution analysis, scaled Agile delivery and Generative AI‑assisted testing.

Candidates must demonstrate recent delivery experience within a bank’s customer‑facing internet or mobile banking environment. Generalist Business Analysts, Project Managers, Scrum Masters, Product Owners without banking product depth, and candidates with only operations or production‑support experience will not meet the role requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead digital banking initiatives from discovery, product strategy and requirements definition through implementation, UAT, release and production stabilisation.
• Own product roadmaps, epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, product backlogs and cross‑platform dependencies.
• Deliver customer‑facing functionality across CASA, deposits, cards, lending, payments, investments, wealth and insurance.
• Analyse complex payment journeys involving domestic and overseas transfers, cross‑border remittances, payment controls, payee management and transaction limits.
• Perform functional analysis of SWIFT MT/MX and ISO 20022 payment messages, including mapping, validation and exception handling.
• Lead wealth‑product journeys involving unit trusts, structured products, equities, bonds, FX, derivatives and regular savings plans.
• Review REST APIs and OpenAPI specifications using Swagger and Postman.
• Define payload mappings, validation rules, service orchestration, error handling and upstream/downstream dependencies.
• Coordinate digital channels, middleware, core banking, payment engines and external service integrations.
• Use Generative AI tools for requirements analysis, API‑documentation review, dependency identification and test‑scenario generation.
• Lead AI‑assisted functional and regression testing while maintaining auditability, traceability and banking‑data controls.
• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, backlog refinement and SAFe programme increment planning.
• Coordinate senior stakeholders across product, operations, technology, architecture, risk, compliance, cybersecurity, testing and vendors.
• Mentor Business Analysts and establish standards for requirements quality and end‑to‑end traceability.

Mandatory Requirements

Applicants must satisfy all the following requirements:

• At least 10 + years of overall technology‑delivery experience.
• At least 10 years of combined Business Analysis, Product Management or Product Ownership experience.
• At least 5 years of recent experience within a bank, delivering customer‑facing internet or mobile banking capabilities.
• Recent hands‑on delivery experience across both retail digital banking and digital wealth management.
• Experience across CASA, fixed deposits, credit cards, debit cards, personal loans, mortgage loans, balance transfers and payment controls.
• Experience covering at least six investment or wealth products: unit trusts, structured products, equities, bonds, FX, derivatives, insurance and regular savings plans.
• End‑to‑end payment experience across domestic transfers, overseas transfers, cross‑border payments, remittances, bill payments, payee management and scheduled transfers.
• Hands‑on knowledge of SWIFT MT, SWIFT MX and ISO 20022, including payment‑message mapping and validation.
• Hands‑on API functional‑analysis experience using REST APIs, Swagger/OpenAPI and Postman.
• Experience mapping dependencies across digital channels, APIs, middleware, payment systems and core banking platforms.
• Experience with at least two of the following banking platforms: Finacle, Fiserv VisionPLUS and Oracle FLEXCUBE.
• Experience leading product discovery, roadmaps, requirements workshops, backlog prioritisation, UAT and production releases.
• Hands‑on experience applying Generative AI to requirements analysis, API analysis or test‑scenario generation in enterprise delivery.
• Experience implementing or leading AI‑assisted test automation for customer‑facing banking functions.
• Strong working experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Figma and SQL.
• Practical experience working under both Scrum and SAFe Agile, including programme increment planning.
• Previous hands‑on software‑development experience before moving into Business Analysis or Product Management.
• Experience delivering digital products across banking and at least three other industries.
• Experience managing geographically distributed business and engineering teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology.
