Job summary

PERSOL SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is seeking a hands-on Electrical/Power Systems Engineer to maintain and troubleshoot data center power and cooling systems (UPS and precision air conditioning) in Singapore.

You will perform health checks, diagnostics, and on-site support for ESS/BESS and PV solar installations, collaborate with vendors, and ensure safety compliance and accurate maintenance records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 1-3 years hands-on experience in electrical/power systems maintenance.
• Experience with data center, ESS/BESS, or PV solar systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot data center power and cooling systems; UPS, precision cooling.
• Perform routine health checks, inspections, and safety compliance.
• Coordinate spare parts requests, warranty service, and field support.
• Provide technical guidance to partners and customers during installation and commissioning.

Job Description

Data Center Infrastructure

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on data center power and cooling systems (UPS, precision air conditioning, cooling units)
• Conduct routine health checks and inspections to maintain system reliability, availability, and safety
• Diagnose and resolve equipment faults using appropriate test instruments and diagnostic tools
• Coordinate spare parts requests and warranty service processes with OEM/manufacturer support

Energy Storage Systems (ESS/BESS)

• Maintain, inspect, and troubleshoot battery storage systems and associated transformer operations
• Perform electrical engineering analyses and calculations to support system optimization
• Conduct field inspections and provide onsite support for critical or major faults
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and electrical safety regulations
• Support commissioning and integration of ESS units (e.g., Smart String ESS) alongside PV equipment

Photovoltaic (PV) Systems

• Commission, configure, and troubleshoot solar inverters and related equipment for residential, C&I, and utility-scale installations
• Oversee electrical installation quality, including wiring, grounding, and protection compliance
• Perform system diagnostics, firmware updates, parameter configuration, and connectivity checks (LAN/RS485/4G)
• Investigate system failures and provide technical guidance to customers and installer partners

General / Cross-Functional

• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, technical reports, and documentation for all service activities
• Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and partners to coordinate installations, repairs, and deployments
• Provide technical support and issue resolution for customer inquiries and escalations
• Adhere to on-site safety protocols, including high/medium voltage safety practices
• Support project teams during installation, commissioning, and handover phases as needed
• To collaborate and communicate directly with English‑speaking officers, stakeholders, counterparts, and customers, including the international partners

Job Requirement

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field

Experience

• 1-3 years of hands‑on experience in electrical/power systems maintenance, preferably with exposure to data center, ESS/BESS, or PV solar systems
• Experience troubleshooting, testing, and maintaining power conversion or cooling equipment is an added advantage.
• Experience in conducting technical guidance and training for service partner teams.
• Having experience in commissioning Fast Charger product is a plus

Technical Skills

• Solid understanding of power supply systems, electrical schematics, and cooling system fundamentals
• Proficiency with relevant testing instruments and maintenance tools
• Familiarity with engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, PVSyst, MS Office)
• Working knowledge of MV/HV electrical systems (operating license a plus)

• Valid driving license and willingness to travel to project/customer sites based on business needs.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work independently on‑site
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; comfortable in customer‑facing situations
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required to effectively communicate and collaborate with English‑speaking stakeholders, including headquarters, regional counterparts, and customers in cross‑cultural and multinational work environments
• Strong awareness of on‑site safety responsibilities, including team safety
