Job summary

Keppel (Data Centres and Networks Division) in Singapore is seeking a Facilities/Operations professional to support data center systems and client relations. You will assist the Operations Lead in daily DC operations, plan maintenance, and coordinate with vendors for scheduled work, ensuring uptime and safety across 24x7 operations.

The role requires 3+ years in data centers or critical environments, strong English, and solid knowledge of HVAC/electrical systems and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• ITE/Nitec/Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or equivalent field of study.
• Experience of electrical and mechanical systems in a data center environment.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and basic SharePoint.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• 3+ years in a data center or critical environment.
• Knowledge of HVAC and electrical systems and life-safety monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Maintain positive, professional relationships with clients and respond to requests promptly.
• Respond to emergency calls 24x7 with escalation as required.
• Assist Operations Lead in daily DC Ops and preventive maintenance to ensure uptime.
• Conduct daily walkthroughs, record faults, and report M&E equipment status.
• Plan and coordinate Master Maintenance with site lead and inform affected clients.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for scheduled maintenance.
• Monitor FOC, respond to alarms, and escalate as per plan.
• Run daily checklists to ensure no environmental abnormalities.
• Induct subcontractors, review safety docs, and ensure compliant work.
• Maintain logs of readings, stock, and report to security/control.
• Brief shift on outstanding issues and handover notes.
• Attend incidents and field service reporting and filing.

Job description

Customer Service

• Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with internal and external clients

Maintain Data Center Systems

• Assist the Operation Lead in the daily management of the DC Operations and Periodic Preventive Maintenance Management ensuring 100% uptime of the DC critical M&E systems

• Conduct daily walkthrough of DC to record and report any faults or defects detected and take down record of M&E equipment

• Plan, coordinate Master Maintenance plan from Elect, Mech. Work with Site Lead to inform affected clients and to make changes if requested by clients

• Work with all DC vendors/term contractors/equipment OEM on the scheduled maintenance to ensue that all planned maintenance are carried out

• Ensure that the FOC is monitored and manned at all times and that EPMS, BMS, and Fire System alarms are responded to in a timely manner; contain/isolate the fault identified and provide impromptu escalations/updates base on escalation plan laid

• Conduct daily routine checklist to ensure no environmental abnormalities and all critical M&E related systems are in good working condition

• Ensure all subcontractors are inducted and permitted to work within the Critical Environment domain. Review contractor method statements, risk assessments, and MSDS to ensure compliance with site health & safety and operating procedures

• Supervise planned maintenance work conducted by contractors/OEMs ensuring all work conducted are as per submitted PTW, MOS and checklist approved, ensuring the quality of work conducted

• Maintain log and records of instrument readings, equipment and consumable stock level

• Report all unlocked doors and racks to the security control

• Briefing and handover to Shift Duty Technician on all outstanding issues and Standing Instructions from the Operation Lead / Assistant Manager / Manager

• Attend to Incidents and field service reporting and filing

Qualified candidates will possess the following:

• ITE/Nitec/Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or equivalent field of study required

• Experience of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment, including: Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Fuel Systems, Switchgear, UPS systems, Battery banks, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, Chillers, Air handling units, Chilled water plant, CRAC units, Fire Alarm systems, and FireSuppression systems

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, Outlook and Visio required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred

• Proficiency in both written and spoken English

• 3 to 5 or more years of experience in a data center or other Critical Environment required (preference is given to data center, hospital, pharmaceutical production or power plant experience)

• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, life safety monitoring and control systems typically used in critical environments
