Job summary

Private Advertiser in Singapore seeks a Design Team Lead with strong civil engineering background to steer a talented group in delivering accurate shop drawings and design solutions.

You will allocate work, mentor junior staff, collaborate with Project Coordinators and consultants, and ensure compliance with Singapore standards. This role requires hands-on leadership and a track record in precast or similar construction environments.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma or Bachelor in Civil Engineering
• English language proficiency required
• 3–5 years of relevant experience
• Full-time position available

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the design team; allocate work and provide guidance on drafting and design requirements
• Improve productivity and accuracy of the design team
• Provide design support to Production and Sales departments
• Ensure all shop drawings are accurate and provided to respective departments
• Coordinate with Project Coordinator to stamp drawings with PE and monitor shop drawing approvals
• Discuss discrepancies and changes with consultants and authorities
• Attend site meetings on technical matters with design engineers or Sales staff
• Enhance the team's technical capabilities and develop solutions in line with Singapore standards
• Analyse the team's accuracy and efficiency and feedback to management
• Mentor and guide junior staff or colleagues
• Handle additional tasks assigned by management or supervisor

Job description

Job Responsibilities:

• To lead and manage the design team in a professional manner, allocate work, provide guidance in drafting and design requirements

• To improve productivity and accuracy of the design team

• To provide design support to the Production and Sales Department.

• To ensure all shop drawings are accurate and provided to the respective departments.

• To coordinate with Project Coordinator to stamp drawings with PE and monitor the approval of shop drawing.

• To discuss with consultants and authorities on any discrepancies and detail changes.

• To attend site meeting on technical matters with design engineer and/or with Sales staff when required.

• To enhance the team's technical capabilities and develop solutions to technical and design challenges in accordance with singapore's standards.

• Analyse the team's accuracy and efficiency and actively feedback to management.

• Mentor and guide junior staff or colleagues.

• Handle any additional tasks and duties assigned by management or the direct supervisor.

Job Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Civil Engineering

• Required language(s): English

• At least 3-5 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.

• Preferably specialized in precast industry.
