Job summary

Addcel is seeking a hands-on ACMV Design Engineer in Singapore to lead the complete design and engineering of ACMV systems from concept to implementation. You will develop and coordinate air-conditioning, ventilation, piping, and related equipment, ensuring designs meet project requirements and safety standards.

The role requires a degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 3 years of ACMV design experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of ACMV design and engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of the full ACMV system from concept through to installation and operation.
• Strong understanding of chilled water and AHU systems, ductwork, piping, pumps, and associated equipment.
• Able to read and interpret MEP drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
• Familiar with Singapore codes, standards, and authority requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer ACMV systems from concept through to detailed design and project implementation.
• Develop and coordinate ACMV systems including air-conditioning, ventilation, piping, and related equipment.
• Perform ACMV calculations (cooling load, heat load, ventilation, duct sizing, piping, pump head).
• Review shop drawings, technical submissions, and material proposals.
• Provide technical support to project and site teams and assist with testing and commissioning.

Job Description

• Responsible for the complete design and engineering of ACMV systems , from initial design concept through to detailed design and project implementation.
• Develop and coordinate complete ACMV systems , including air-conditioning, mechanical ventilation, chilled water systems, ductwork, piping, pumps, AHU, FCU, cooling towers, chillers, exhaust systems, fresh air systems, and associated equipment.
• Perform ACMV engineering calculations including cooling load, heat load, ventilation requirements, air quantity, duct sizing, pipe sizing, pump head, pressure loss, equipment capacity, and system balancing .
• Develop practical and cost-effective ACMV design solutions based on project requirements, site conditions, specifications, and applicable standards.
• Prepare and review ACMV layouts, schematics, single-line diagrams, detailed drawings, equipment schedules, and technical submissions .
• Review project specifications, tender drawings, design requirements, and consultant drawings to ensure complete understanding of the ACMV scope.
• Coordinate ACMV systems with structural, architectural, electrical, piping, fire protection, and other engineering disciplines .
• Ensure proper system integration, equipment arrangement, accessibility, maintenance requirements, and constructability.
• Review shop drawings, technical submissions, material proposals, and engineering calculations.
• Provide technical support to project and site teams and resolve design, coordination, and installation issues.
• Conduct site inspections and verify that ACMV installations are in accordance with approved designs and project requirements.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal project teams on technical and design matters.
• Assist with testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, balancing, and handover of ACMV systems.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant Singapore codes, standards, authority requirements, project specifications, and safety requirements .
• Take ownership of assigned design work and ensure engineering deliverables are completed accurately and within project timelines.

To be a good fit, you would possess these qualities and skills

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant ACMV design and engineering experience .
• Must have strong and comprehensive knowledge of the full ACMV system , from design concept and calculations through to installation, testing, commissioning, and operation.
• Strong understanding of chilled water systems, air-conditioning systems, mechanical ventilation, fresh air systems, exhaust systems, ductwork, chilled water piping, pumps, AHU, FCU, chillers, cooling towers, and associated ACMV equipment .
• Able to independently carry out ACMV design calculations, equipment selection, system sizing, and technical design development.
• Proficient in AutoCAD ; knowledge of Revit MEP / BIM will be an advantage.
• Able to read, understand, and interpret MEP drawings, specifications, schematics, and technical documents .
• Familiar with relevant Singapore codes, standards, authority requirements, and ACMV industry practices .
• Experience in semiconductor, data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial projects will be an advantage.
• Strong technical knowledge with good problem-solving and engineering judgement .
• Good coordination and communication skills with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and site teams.
• Able to work independently and take full ownership of design responsibilities .
