Job summary

ICE Services and Solutions Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer/Mechanical Designer to support ACMV, Fire Protection, Plumbing, and related MEP design from concept through construction.

You will handle engineering calculations, design development, and BIM coordination for various building services projects. The role requires strong knowledge of building services, local regulations, and coordination with clients and authorities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering is required.
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with relevant design experience.
• Experience in Building Services engineering for multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed engineering design for ACMV, fire protection, and plumbing systems.
• Develop conceptual to tender designs and review submissions.
• Prepare AutoCAD drawings and Revit MEP models; perform BIM coordination.
• Ensure compliance with Singapore Building Control Regulations and Fire Code.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors; assist site inspections.
• Prepare design basis, calculations, specs, and schedules.

Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Designer (ACMV, P&S& Fire Protection)

Position Summary

ICE Services and Solutions Pte. Ltd. is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Designer to support the planning, design, engineering, and project delivery of Building Services projects. The successful candidate will be involved in ACMV, Fire Protection, Plumbing, and related MEP engineering design works from concept through construction stages.

The position requires strong technical knowledge of building services engineering, local regulatory requirements, engineering calculations, design coordination, and preparation of construction documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Design

Perform detailed engineering design for:

• Air Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) systems
• Fire Protection systems
• Smoke Control Systems
• Mechanical ventilation systems
• Plumbing and sanitary systems
• Industrial utility systems where applicable

Prepare:

• Engineering calculations
• Equipment sizing calculations
• Cooling load calculations
• Hydraulic calculations
• Ventilation calculations
• Pressure loss calculations
• Pump and fan selections

Design Development

• Develop conceptual, schematic, detailed, and tender designs.
• Produce engineering reports and design submissions.
• Prepare technical specifications and bill of quantities.
• Review contractor submissions and shop drawings.
• Verify compliance with project requirements and applicable regulations.

BIM / CAD Design

Prepare and coordinate:

• AutoCAD drawings
• Revit MEP models
• BIM coordination models
• Design drawings
• Construction drawings
• As-built drawings
• Participate in clash detection and coordination with other disciplines.

Regulatory Compliance

Prepare design submissions and ensure compliance with:

• Singapore Building Control Regulations
• SCDF Fire Code
• BCA Requirements
• NEA Requirements
• PUB Requirements
• SS Standards
• CP Standards
• NFPA Standards where applicable

Project Coordination

• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and authorities.
• Attend design coordination meetings.
• Conduct site inspections and verification.
• Support project managers in design and construction activities.
• Assist during testing and commissioning.

Technical Documentation

Prepare:

• Design basis reports
• Design calculations
• Technical specifications
• Method statements
• Engineering assessment reports
• Equipment schedules
• Project documentation

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering from a recognized university.

OR

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with relevant design experience.

Experience

Minimum 3 to 8 years of experience in building services engineering.

Experience in:

• ACMV design
• Fire Protection design
• Plumbing / Sanitary design
• MEP coordination
• Consultancy projects

Experience in the following will be advantageous:

• Data Centers
• Pharmaceutical facilities / Cleanroom
• Semiconductor Fab / Cleanroom
• Industrial facilities
• Commercial buildings
• Mixed-use developments

Technical Skills

Proficiency in:

• AutoCAD
• Revit MEP
• BIM software
• Microsoft Office Suite

Knowledge of:

• Duct sizing software
• Pipe sizing software
• Hydraulic modeling software
