Job summary

GovTech Singapore seeks a Deputy Director, Engineering Management to lead product engineering for a mobile-first workplace platform that unifies employee journeys into seamless digital and physical experiences. You will own the full vertical stack—from the native app to APIs and SDKs—while ensuring security, scalability, and high availability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience); a Master’s degree is a plus.
• At least 10 years of professional software engineering experience, including 3 to 5 years in formal engineering leadership and direct people management roles.
• Proven Engineering Leadership with experience as an Engineering Manager overseeing delivery, people management, and architectural guidance across mobile-first surfaces, microservices, or developer platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical vision across the full vertical stack, from the native mobile app to core domain microservices, APIs, and SDKs, with strong security standards.
• Design modular, reusable developer frameworks to enable partner teams across agencies to plug in capabilities and manage end-to-end journeys.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, and Operations to balance user experience with technical feasibility while delivering on roadmaps with high availability.
• Mentor senior engineers and emerging leaders, fostering a high-performing squad and clear performance standards.
• Participate in interview panels and governance to uphold engineering excellence and share learnings across the organization.
