Job summary

GovTech, Singapore, seeks Staff/Principal Software Engineer to lead MOE engineering teams and platform initiatives. You will shape architecture, standards, and strategic direction for a scalable, value-driven engineering program that accelerates government digital delivery.

You will drive platform productization, developer experience, and self-service workflows, while mentoring engineers across autonomous teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3–5 years in engineering leadership roles.
• Proven ability to lead teams delivering large-scale, high-impact systems or platforms.
• Solid foundation in modern programming languages (Node.js, Go, Python) and frontend frameworks (React, Vue).
• Experience with cloud-native architectures (AWS/Azure) and microservices.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD toolsets.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Committed to fostering inclusion, learning, and technical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor platform engineering teams to deliver scalable systems.
• Define architecture, standards, and tooling to enable fast, coherent delivery.
• Build platform products with self-service workflows, observability, and security-by-default.
• Shape developer experience across platform teams and drive end-to-end engineering improvements.
• Collaborate with product, security, and operations to align on strategy and execution.
