Job summary

GovTech in Singapore seeks a DeputyDirector, Engineering Management to lead product engineering for a mobile-first workplace platform servicing the public sector. You will own the full vertical stack, from native apps to APIs and SDKs, ensuring security, scalability and reusable platform capabilities.

You will balance technical depth with people leadership, mentoring engineers and shaping architectural patterns across the department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Master’s degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical vision across the full vertical stack, from native mobile app to APIs and SDKs, with quality and security standards.
• Drive modular, reusable developer frameworks and end-to-end architecture for integration-heavy journeys.
• Collaborate with Product, UX and Operations to balance user experience with feasibility, delivering on platform roadmaps with high availability.
• Foster a high-performing squad with coaching, 1:1s, and clear performance standards, mentoring senior engineers and leaders.
• Participate in interview panels and help shape architectural learnings and delivery patterns across the organization.
