Job summary

GovTech in Singapore is seeking a Deputy Director (Engineering Management) to lead multiple delivery and operations teams for the Developer Productivity Platform. You will shape direction, balance feature delivery with sustainability, and guide architectural trade-offs to long-term outcomes.

You will coach engineers, foster an inclusive culture, and drive performance with transparent practices. A focus on DevX, observability, and robust tooling will underpin ongoing gov tech delivery.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in engineering management at scale.
• Strong technical judgment with ability to navigate design trade-offs.
• Proven track record coaching engineers and building high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Set Direction: shape squad goals with product and design partners; balance new features with sustainability and risk.
• Assemble: build a high-performing team; coach engineers; foster a high-trust, inclusive culture.
• Achieve: ensure high-quality software delivery; support architecture reviews; monitor health and tech debt; improve DevX.
