Job summary

IDC TECHNOLOGIES (SINGAPORE) PTE. LTD. seeks an experienced Data Centre Operations professional to support mission critical data centres in Singapore.

The role features a 12-hour rotating shift and entails day-to-day data centre and computer operations, including key management and escorting vendors. The candidate will rotate between East and West locations monthly, work in a high-pressure 24x7 environment, and collaborate with vendors.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of data centre operations experience.
• Experience in 24x7 on-call environments.
• Familiar with ITIL incident, problem and change management.
• Experience with data centre vendors and outsourcing.
• Strong MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day data centre operations duties and key management.
• Escort vendors and manage facilities infrastructure checks.
• Power up onboarded servers and perform degaussing and routine checks.
• Generate reports to management and escalate incidents following procedures.
• Rotate assignments to different data centres and cover duties as required.

Job Objective

Support mission critical data centres and remote buildings operations in Singapore. This role is a 12-hour rotating shift duty and support the data centre operations in data centres.

Job Description

• Possess good knowledge of data centre operation tasks and duties.
• Perform day-to- day data centre / computer operations duties (key management, escorting vendors, facilities infrastructure checks, powering-up of onboarded servers, degaussing, routine checks, laptop management).
• Strong ability to support activities in data centre and secure rooms.
• Ensure data centre procedures are followed strictly.
• Ensure prompt escalation of all incidents, adhering to the standard incident response procedure, and track each incident to its complete resolution.
• To generate reports to management.
• Any other duties assigned by management.
• Will cover duties as required.
• The candidate will be assigned to a different data centre each month, rotating between East and West locations.

Desired Skills, Knowledge and Experience

• Minimum 5 years Data Centre operations experience preferable in a team.
• Experience working in a high-pressure environment with 24x7 on-call responsibilities
• Strong understanding of incident, problem and change management procedures based on ITIL best practices
• Experienced in supporting Data Centre vendors, out-sourcing vendors.
• Ability to quickly learn and effectively utilize in-house software.
• Demonstrate strong multitasking capabilities and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in-writing.
• Possesses a strong work ethic and a proactive approach to tasks.
• An analytical and inquiring mind to derive innovative solutions.
• Able to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Must have experience working in data centre operations in financial institutions.
