Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Cost Controller for data center construction projects in Singapore. You will develop tailored project control concepts, manage cash flow, schedules and budgets, and oversee subcontract changes from design through final accounts.

Responsibilities include cost reporting, governance-aligned analysis, and collaboration with the GC and sub-contractors. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction, project or cost management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs; Primavera P6 knowledge is advantageous.
• Minimum 10 years relevant cost control experience in data centers, hi-tech and similar large construction.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Adaptable to client-specific collaborative delivery models.
• Effective communication with senior management.
• Creative problem-solving for bespoke solutions.
• Ability to work fast and agile
• Ability to work independently and in a team, taking ownership.
• Strong organizational skills for concurrent activities.
• Comfortable overseeing the project lifecycle from design through final accounts.
• Basic understanding of variance analysis.
• Experience with administration, resource planning, and learning client’s tools.
• In-depth expertise in cost estimates and planning.
• Contract management experience, with the ability to determine the validity of commercial claims.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement cost control concepts for data center construction.
• Establish processes for control and reporting through the project lifecycle.
• Drive major control milestones: cash flow, pay apps, schedule, final accounts.
• Oversee commercial activities with GC and sub-contractors.
• Support change control and issue reporting.
• Collaborate with Scheduler on progress reports and analysis.
• Review, issue and evaluate subcontract change orders.
• Maintain budgets and provide cost reporting updates.
• Identify and evaluate potential changes and contractor invoices.
• Present cost analysis results to clients aligning with governance.
• Define work scope, schedules and budgets for various projects.
• Contribute to safety, quality, speed and effectiveness.
