Job summary

Peoplebank Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a Data Center Operations Associate in Singapore. You will actively monitor data center systems, manage environmental conditions, and support security and access control.

You will coordinate DC activities, escort personnel, and onboard/offboard customers as required. The role requires 3 years of DC operation experience, strong communication, and solid knowledge of DC monitoring tools and Windows/Microsoft 365 apps.

Qualifications

• Minimum NITEC in IT-related discipline or a recognized Diploma in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering/Information Systems.
• Preferable 3 years experience in Data Center Operation.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Good customer service aptitude and strong work ethic.
• Good technical knowledge on Data Centre monitoring tools.
• Working knowledge of Data Centre Mechanical & Electrical operations.
• Basic knowledge of Windows Server OS and network infrastructure.
• Basic knowledge on Windows 10 and M365 apps (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint).
• Self-driven and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Actively monitoring data center systems, including servers, network devices, and storage.
• Monitoring and recording environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, power usage).
• Ensuring security procedures and access control, CCTV management.
• Coordinate operations in the data center and assist with equipment handling.
• Escort engineers/customers when required and onboard/offboard customers as needed.
• Troubleshoot and escalate issues per procedures and escalation matrix.
• Respond to calls and emails from Operations Managers and customers.
• Maintain accurate logs of data center operations and incidents.

The Opportunity

• Actively monitoring data center systems, including servers, network devices, storage systems.
• Monitoring and recording environmental conditions within the data center, such as temperature, humidity, and power usage. Ensure aircon is in healthy state.
• Ensuring compliance with physical security procedures, managing access control, and managing CCTV and security access.
• Eye-ball checking of system faults and failures
• Coordinate all works in the data center - eg. packing tapes for transport, preparing for incoming or outgoing equipment with DC Facility Management.
• Escorting engineers/customers when required.
• Onboarding and offboarding customers when required.
• Troubleshoot and elevate issues according to escalation matrix and procedures.
• Respond to calls and emails from Operations Managers, customers, etc.
• Return to HQ on adhoc basis when requested.
• Maintaining accurate records of data center operations, including access logs, environmental data, and incident reports.
• Any other duties as assigned by management.

Your Background
