Job summary

TOSS-EX PR PTE. LTD. is seeking a Data Centre Operations Operator to actively monitor data centre systems, record environmental conditions, and ensure air conditioning health.

The role focuses on reliable operations and strict adherence to security procedures within a 24x7 environment. You will coordinate works, escort engineers, onboard and offboard customers, troubleshoot issues, and maintain accurate incident logs.

Qualifications

• NITEC in IT related discipline or Diploma in Electrical / Electronic / Computer Engineering / Information Systems
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Strong willingness to work in a 24x7 data centre environment
• Comfort with Windows Server and basic network concepts
• Self-driven and able to work independently

Responsibilities

• Actively monitor data centre systems (servers, network devices, storage)
• Record environmental conditions (temp, humidity, power) and ensure aircon health
• Ensure physical security procedures, access control, CCTV oversight
• Coordinate works in the data centre and prepare equipment for transport
• Escort engineers/customers and onboard/offboard customers as needed
• Troubleshoot issues and escalate per procedures
• Respond to calls and emails from Operations Managers and customers

Job description

Responsibilities

• Actively monitoring data centre systems, including servers, network devices, storage systems.
• Monitoring and recording environmental conditions within the data centre, such as temperature, humidity, and power usage. Ensure aircon is in healthy state.
• Ensuring compliance with physical security procedures, managing access control, and managing CCTV and security access.
• Eye-ball checking of system faults and failures
• Coordinate all works in the data centre - eg. packing tapes for transport, preparing for incoming or outgoing equipment with DC Facility Management.
• Escorting engineers/customers when required.
• Onboarding and offboarding customers when required.
• Troubleshoot and escape issues according to escalation matrix and procedures.
• Respond to calls and emails from Operations Managers, customers, etc.
• Return to HQ on adhoc basis when requested.
• Maintaining accurate records of data centre operations, including access logs, environmental data, and incident reports.
• Any other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Possesses minimum NITEC in IT related discipline or Recognized Diploma in Electrical / Electronic / Computer Engineering / Information Systems
• Preferable 3 years' experience in Data Center Operation
• Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
• Good customer service aptitude, and strong work ethic.
• 12-hour shift arrangement, according to rosters in a 24x7 environment. May swap shifts with colleagues when there are unforeseen circumstances. Eg. medical or family emergencies.
• Good technical knowledge on Data Centre monitoring tools.
• Working knowledge of Data Centre Mechanical & Electrical for operation.
• Basic knowledge of Windows Server operating system and network infrastructure.
• Basic knowledge on Windows 10 and M365 apps (Excel, Word, outlook, sharepoint, etc)
• Self-driven and able to work independently
