Job summary

Cisco Systems is seeking an Associate Sales Engineer to join the Cybersecurity SE team in ASEAN. You will transform discovered use cases into tailored demonstrations and automated proofs of concept, working with senior SEs and account teams to show value to customers.

You will progressively handle more customer-facing work as your product and solution-design depth grows, building demo environments and collaborating with TAC, success teams, and partners within a dynamic ASEAN security portfolio.

Qualifications

• A technical background — computer science, IT, engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience with 2-3 years of relevant work experience.
• Comfortable with programmability: scripting (Python or similar), APIs, automation tools, infrastructure-as-code, or network/security device programmability.
• Practical experience using AI tools to design, build, or automate — coding assistants, agent frameworks, or AI-driven workflow automation.
• Strong troubleshooting instincts and comfort working in ambiguous, not-fully-specified environments.
• Good communication skills — you'll need to translate technical decisions to both senior engineers and, eventually, customers.
• Curiosity about cybersecurity and a desire to grow into a customer-facing Sales Engineering role.

Responsibilities

• Translate discovered customer use cases and requirements into working, customized demo environments and proofs of concept.
• Build, configure, and script across Cisco's security portfolio to represent real customer scenarios.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to automate demo builds and environment setup.
• Maintain, refresh, and troubleshoot demo/POC environments for reliability and reuse.
• Collaborate with senior SEs to understand the 'why' behind a solution design and flag gaps.
