Job summary

Recruit Express Pte Ltd is seeking a seasoned System Engineer/Administrator to manage a wide range of servers and storage primarily on Solaris, Linux, and Windows. You will deliver system administration, security support, and 24x7 service coverage, leading projects on schedule while troubleshooting and driving resolutions.

The role requires extensive Unix/Linux experience, familiarity with industry tools, and potential for rotating standby duties.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Unix/Linux web/application servers as a system engineer or administrator.
• Experience with Solaris 11/10, RedHat Linux 6/7/8, SUN/Oracle hardware.
• Willing to be on 24x7 standby for service contracts on rotating basis.
• Excellent diagnostics skills and strong problem-solving capability.
• Solid fundamentals in hardware/software troubleshooting.
• Experience with industry tools SPLUNK, SCCM, BIGFIX, SOLARWINDS is a plus.
• Cloud certifications AWS/Azure are a plus.
• Knowledge of Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker & Containers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, upgrade, and manage servers and storages mainly on Solaris, Linux, and Windows platforms.
• Provide system administration and security support to customers.
• Perform system administration and engineering support for 24x7 service organization.
• Lead project completion within the allocated schedule.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and drive technical resolution.
• Escalate cases to vendors such as Oracle, RedHat & Veritas.
• Handle customer calls and incident tickets related to Unix servers/services faults, and record faults in ITSM tool.
• Assign with project implementation when required.
• Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Responsibilities

• Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through providing system administration and security technical support to the customer
• Perform system administration and systems engineering support for 24x7 service organization
• Lead project completion within the allocated schedule
• Responsible for problem identification, troubleshooting, and driving technical resolution
• Escalation of cases/faults to vendors such as Oracle, RedHat & Veritas
• Handle customer calls and incident tickets related to Unix servers/services faults, recording the fault through ITSM tool
• Assign with project implementation when required
• Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant working experience managing web/application servers as a system engineer or administrator in a Unix/Linux background
• Experienced in Solaris 11/10, RedHat Linux 6/7/8, SUN/Oracle Hardware skills
• Willing to be on 24 x 7 stand-by for service contract and maintenance services on a rotating basis
• Excellent diagnostics skills and good ability to resolve problems quickly
• Strong technical competence in the fundamentals of troubleshooting hardware/software along
• Hands on experience with Industry standard operational Tools like SPLUNK, NETGAIN, SCCM, BIGFIX, SOLARWINDS will be an added advantage
• Cloud Certifications AWS/Azure will be an added advantage
• Knowledgeable in Ansible, Kubernetes, Dockers & Containers will be an added advantage
