Job summary

EnviroDynamics Solutions Pte Ltd is seeking a Server / Systems Administrator to plan, install, and maintain UNIX/Linux servers. You will manage rack placement, perform OS reinstalls, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with remote teams for hardware problems.

The role includes on-call duties, asset tracking, and lifecycle management from deployment to retirement. The ideal candidate has a CS/EE degree, strong Linux skills (Debian-based), and solid networking knowledge, plus the ability to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, EE, or related field.
• Understanding of server interconnectivity and hardware relationships.
• Ability to read and execute basic Shell/Bash scripts.
• Proficiency with Linux (Debian-based) and hardware issue triage.
• Strong networking knowledge: MACs, subnets, TCP/IP and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with IPMI or similar out-of-band management.
• Willing to work weekends when required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organize server placement in racks with mounting arrangements.

• Maintain asset data, rack layouts, and ticketing management.
• Coordinate with remote teams/vendors for hardware issues.
• Participate in on-call duties for business operations.
• Monitor online assets and diagnose potential problems.
• Handle server decommissioning, drive wiping, reconfiguration.
• Provide feedback on tools and platforms for retrofit/testing.
• Oversee RMA submissions and media destruction tracking.
• Support full server lifecycle from deployment to retirement.

• Reinstall OS as needed and troubleshoot system-related abnormalities.


• Conduct routine server maintenance, perform troubleshooting, and handle break-fix hardware tasks.


• Manage internal system data, including asset tracking, rack layout information, and ticket management.


• Collaborate with remote teams or vendors to address hardware issues and batch failures.


• Participate in on-call duties to resolve business-side operational issues as they arise.


• Monitor and verify the status of online assets and diagnose potential problems.


• Handle server decommissioning processes such as drive wiping and reconfiguration.


• Provide feedback on tools, systems, and platforms for retrofitting or testing purposes.


• Oversee RMA submissions and media destruction tracking.


• Support full server lifecycle management from deployment to retirement.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.


• Understanding of how server technologies and functions interconnect.


• Ability to read and execute basic Shell or Bash scripts.


• Proficiency in Linux systems preferably on Debian based with the ability to identify hardware issues.


• Solid grasp of networking fundamentals, including MAC addresses, subnets, and TCP/IP protocols, with troubleshooting skills.


• Familiarity with out-of-band or remote server management protocols such as IPMI.


• Willingness and availability to work on weekends as required.
