Job summary

GMP Technologies (S) Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking a seasoned Construction Manager to oversee all construction activities, ensuring quality, code compliance, and adherence to schedule and budget. You will manage contractors and coordinate with engineering support to drive project delivery.

The ideal candidate holds a Master or Engineering degree, with a minimum of 5 years in construction (marine experience preferred) and expertise in MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 5 years of construction experience, preferably in marine construction.
• Proficient with MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Able to start immediately or on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction activities with focus on quality, code compliance, and schedule/cost.
• Manage contractors and coordinate with engineering teams.
• Develop and implement corporate construction policies.
• Ensure timely delivery with minimal waste.
• Lead a group of engineers.
• Coordinate with departments; liaison with authorities/clients/suppliers.
• Provide progress reporting and participate in execution meetings.

About the role

Overall responsibility for all construction activities with respect to performance, procedure, and making recommendations to project managers for improvements and corrective actions. You will manage contractors with a focus on quality, compliance with engineering drawings, applicable code and standards, and construction schedule and cost.

Key responsibilities

• Manage contractors with a focus on quality, compliance with engineering drawings, applicable code and standards, and construction schedule and cost
• Interface and coordinate with engineering supporting construction activities
• Assist in developing and implementing corporate construction policies that support project construction
• Oversee the effective management of project activities to assure timely delivery and low wastage
• Manage and lead a group of engineers
• Coordinate with other departments on issues affecting project works
• Liaise with government/statutory authorities, consultants, clients, suppliers etc.
• Provide timely project progress reporting to management and attending project execution meetings with other managers
• Ensure Quality Assurance and ISO Standards are met on all construction related activities and ensure customer quality specifications are constantly met
• Allocate capital and Human Resources to maximize productivity

About you

• Excellent interpersonal skills, people management skills, good communication skills and negotiation skills with strong leadership qualities
• Efficient, good analytical skills and able to work independently
• Proven track records of successful project completion on time and on budget or exceeding expectations
• Master or Degree in Engineering or equivalent, recognized universities under the BCA is a plus
• Minimum 5 years of construction experience. Experience in marine construction company is favorable
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, MS Project, Primavera and AutoCad
• Able to start work immediately or within short notice
