SWIFT SEARCH GLOBAL PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead building projects from planning to completion in Jurong, Singapore.

The role emphasizes site operations, resource management, and coordination with subcontractors, architects, and engineers. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Civil Engineering with at least 5 years of construction management experience on residential or commercial projects, including HDB exposure.

Construction Manager (Building Construction)

Location: Jurong, Singapore
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: Up to S$8,000 per month, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications

Job Overview

We are seeking experienced Construction Managers to oversee and manage building construction projects from planning through completion.

The successful candidates will be responsible for site operations, construction planning, manpower and resource management, subcontractor coordination, quality, safety, cost control and project delivery.

We have opportunities across both HDB and non-HDB building projects. Candidates with HDB project experience will be considered for projects where such experience is relevant.

Key Responsibilities

Construction & Site Management

• Oversee and manage construction activities from planning through project completion.
• Develop and implement effective construction execution plans in accordance with project schedules and budgets.
• Monitor daily site activities and construction progress to ensure timely project delivery.
• Coordinate and supervise site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Work closely with Project Managers, architects, engineers, consultants and other construction professionals.
• Resolve construction issues, work delays and other site-related challenges in a timely manner.
• Ensure changes to specifications, work scopes and drawings are properly documented and communicated.

Project & Resource Management

• Monitor construction productivity and schedule performance.
• Identify causes of delays or unsatisfactory performance and implement appropriate corrective measures.
• Plan and coordinate manpower deployment to support project requirements.
• Monitor manpower and overtime utilisation to support effective cost management.
• Manage construction materials to minimise unnecessary wastage and overstocking.
• Coordinate the utilisation of company assets, machinery and rental equipment.
• Support effective allocation of project resources to meet operational requirements.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, quality requirements and applicable regulations.
• Promote compliance with applicable Workplace Safety and Health requirements and company safety procedures.
• Work closely with relevant site personnel to maintain appropriate safety standards.
• Monitor workmanship and construction quality throughout project execution.
• Support the timely rectification of site and quality issues.

Reporting & Stakeholder Coordination

• Provide regular project updates to the Project Manager / Senior Construction Manager.
• Report project progress, risks, opportunities and significant site issues in a timely manner.
• Coordinate effectively with internal teams, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders.
• Maintain appropriate project and site documentation.
• Perform other relevant duties assigned in support of project delivery.

Requirements

• Degree or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant construction management experience in building construction projects.
• Experience in public residential, private residential, government, commercial or similar building projects will be advantageous.
• HDB project experience will be an advantage for the HDB project vacancy.
• Strong technical knowledge of structural, architectural, finishing and/or M&E works.
• Good understanding of construction methods, site operations, quality requirements and applicable safety standards.
• Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Good stakeholder and subcontractor management capabilities.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within project deadlines.
