Job summary

SWIFT SEARCH GLOBAL PTE. LTD.

is seeking a Project Engineer to support the planning, coordination and execution of building construction projects in Jurong, Singapore. You will work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, consultants, subcontractors and multidisciplinary project teams to ensure construction works are completed safely, on schedule and in accordance with drawings, specifications and quality requirements.

Qualifications

• Recognised degree in Civil Engineering.
• Relevant experience in building construction projects.
• HDB project experience is advantageous for HDB vacancies.
• Experience with public residential, private residential, government or commercial projects welcome.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Review project specifications, drawings, submissions and authority requirements.
• Assist the Project Manager/Construction Manager in day-to-day supervision and coordination of site works.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors and site teams to meet quality, schedule and safety requirements.
• Plan, monitor and update construction schedules, material requirements and site activities.
• Maintain project documentation and perform QA/QC duties.
• Support safety compliance and site inspections.

Project Engineer (Building Construction)

Location: Jurong, Singapore
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: Up to S$5,500 per month, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications

Job Overview

We are seeking Project Engineers to support the planning, coordination and execution of building construction projects.

The successful candidates will work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, consultants, subcontractors and multidisciplinary project teams to ensure construction works are completed safely, on schedule and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and quality requirements.

There are opportunities across both HDB and non-HDB building projects, with two vacancies supporting HDB projects.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Site Coordination

• Review project specifications, construction drawings, technical submissions and relevant authority requirements.
• Assist the Project Manager / Construction Manager in the day-to-day supervision and coordination of site works.
• Ensure construction works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors and site teams to achieve project quality, schedule and operational requirements.
• Plan, monitor and update construction schedules, material requirements and site activities.
• Monitor project progress and support timely completion of project milestones.

Technical Coordination

• Coordinate closely with Structural, Architectural, M&E and BIM teams to resolve technical and coordination matters.
• Liaise with consultants, clients and relevant stakeholders on design, construction and quality matters.
• Review drawings and technical documentation and highlight discrepancies or coordination issues.
• Assist in resolving technical and site-related issues during project execution.

Documentation & Quality

• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including method statements, risk assessments, progress reports and handover documentation.
• Perform QA/QC duties for assigned works.
• Monitor workmanship and ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate records of project and site activities.

Workplace Safety & Compliance

• Support compliance with applicable Workplace Safety and Health requirements and project safety procedures.
• Coordinate with relevant site personnel to promote safe work practices.
• Participate in site inspections and follow up on identified safety or quality matters.

Commercial & Project Support

• Support cost control, variation works and contract administration where required.
• Assist management with project reporting and documentation.
• Perform other relevant duties assigned in support of project delivery.

Requirements

• Recognised Degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
• Relevant experience in building construction projects will be advantageous.
• Candidates with HDB project experience will have an advantage for the HDB project vacancies.
• Candidates with experience in public residential, private residential, government or commercial building projects are welcome to apply.
• Good technical knowledge of structural, architectural, finishing and/or M&E works.
• Able to interpret construction drawings and technical documentation.
• Good organisational, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work effectively with multidisciplinary project teams and meet project deadlines.
