Job summary

HDR is seeking a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to join our Singapore Building Engineering Services team, working on Mission Critical sector projects. You will manage the commissioning process, develop plans, and provide technical guidance to clients while coordinating with contractors and testing teams.

You will contribute to quality outcomes, engage in progress reporting, and ensure thorough documentation and sign-off of commissioning activities across diverse projects in Singapore.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
• Green Mark AP, LEED AP, CSA or LEED Associate – advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commissioning process and assess project schedules, drawings, manuals and submittals.
• Develop commissioning implementation plans, schedules, reports, checklists, and test scripts.
• Provide technical advice to clients on project and operational risk.
• Coordinate with general contractor teams on commissioning strategies and processes.
• Manage factory tests attendance, reporting, and inspections tests.
• Record progress, meetings, and data in commissioning software.
• Provide progress reports and final project close out.

The Role

HDR is seeking a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to join our Singapore Building Engineering Services (BES) team. This position will be working on projects across a range of markets, primarily the Mission Critical sector.

• Manage the commissioning process:
• Undertaking technical assessments of project schedules, drawings, manuals and technical submittals.
• Developing commissioning implementation plan, schedules, reports, checklists, and test scripts.
• Providing technical advice to clients in respect of project and operational risk.
• Working closely with general contractor’s team in developing commissioning strategies and processes which align fully with project objectives.
• Managing attendance and reporting of factory tests.
• Undertaking and reporting of inspections and tests.
• Attending project and internal meetings as needed.
• Managing detailed recording of meetings.
• Recording of detailed progress pre-requisites.
• Routine population and management of data in project commissioning software.
• Providing routine progress reporting and final project close out report.
• Arranging third party sign off as necessary.
• Review and development of Commissioning documentation.
• Reviewing technical papers/reports before publication.

About You

• Demonstrated experience in commissioning or facility engineering, ideally working within the Mission Critical (Data Centre) sectors
• Experience conducting equipment inspection, Factory Witness Tests, and Factory Acceptance Tests.
• Team player and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• You are committed to quality, improvement and HDR values
• You are proactive, organised and ready to take ownership of commissioning outcomes on complex projects
• Appreciates teamwork and good interpersonal skills
• Singaporean or PR

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering from recognized education institutions.
