Job summary

Capefront Asia Pacific seeks a meticulous Commercial Manager to oversee shipbuilding contracts during vessel construction. The role reports to the Contracts Division and requires a strong attention to detail and contract negotiation expertise.

You will coordinate with project managers, legal teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure terms are met, risks are identified, and projects are delivered on time and within budget. Ten years’ experience in maritime contracts is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in law or engineering or related field.
• At least 10 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in shipbuilding or maritime.
• In-depth knowledge of shipbuilding contracts, procurement processes, and the legal framework surrounding construction and engineering contracts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and manage contracts related to shipbuilding projects, including construction, procurement, and supply agreements.
• Work closely with project managers, legal teams, and stakeholders to ensure contract terms are met and projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Discussion with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Monitor and manage contract performance, including risk identification, mitigation, and ensuring adherence to agreed terms.
• Provide guidance and advice on contractual matters to internal teams and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with legal counsel to resolve any contractual disputes or claims.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of contracts, amendments, and correspondence.
• Prepare reports on contract status, potential risks, and mitigation strategies.
