MARCO POLO SHIPYARD PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee shipyard programs in Batam, Indonesia. You will lead on-site operations, coordinate vendors, manage contracts, and ensure delivery dates are met while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role requires a technical background in naval architecture or marine engineering, plus 5 years of project management experience in shipyards. Proficiency in English is essential, with Bahasa Indonesia preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or Diploma in Naval Architect or marine engineering with strong technical background.
• At least 5 years' experience as shipyard project manager.
• Knowledge of newbuilding projects.
• Proficient in English; Bahasa Indonesia is preferable.

Responsibilities

• Monitor project progress and milestones to ensure on-time delivery per contract.
• Coordinate daily on-site operations and logistics.
• Manage all suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Oversee contract compliance, scope management, and deliverables.
• Act as primary liaison with the client on project status and requirements.
• Provide technical leadership to identify and resolve issues.
• Serve as chief on-site commander and final decision-maker.

1. Monitor Project Progress: Track milestones and progress against the schedule to ensure strict adherence to contractual delivery dates.
2. Site Coordination: Direct and coordinate daily on-site operations and logistics.
3. Vendor Management: Supervise and manage all suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors involved in the project.
4. Contract Administration: Oversee contract compliance, scope management, and commercial deliverables.
5. Client Relations: Serve as the primary focal point and liaison for the customer regarding project status and requirements.
6. Technical Leadership: Lead the project team in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving all technical issues
7. Site Command: Act as the Chief in Command for major site operations, serving as the final decision-maker for all onsite activities and personnel

Requirements:

1. Bachelor degree or Diploma in Naval Architect or marine engineering or similar qualification with strong technical background.
2. At least 5 years working experience as shipyard project manager
3. Possess knowledge of newbuilding project
4. Proficient in English and Bahasa Indonesia is preferable
5. MS Office
6. Required to base in Batam, Indonesia
