Clinic Assistant (Full-Time) - Sengkang
Nursing background welcome - clinical scope available
Continuum is a 24-hour clinic in Sengkang. We see the full spread – walk-in acute presentations, chronic disease follow-ups, wound care, minor procedures, health screening. We're looking for an experienced Clinic Assistant to support our doctors and keep the clinic running.
If you come from a nursing background, there is real clinical work here for you, not just a front desk. Read on.
This is a full-time, on-site role on rotating shifts.
Clinical duties
- Take and record vital signs; flag abnormal readings and prioritise patients who can't wait
- Prepare patients and set up rooms for consultations and minor procedures
- Assist doctors chairside during examinations, minor surgery, suturing and incision & drainage
- Wound care and dressing changes; suture and staple removal
- Perform point-of-care testing - urine dipstick, blood glucose, pregnancy test, rapid tests - and record results accurately
- Set up and run ECGs; assist with nebulisation
- Dispense medications in accordance with the doctor's prescription and clinic protocols
- Maintain the treatment room: cold-chain and vaccine fridge monitoring, expiry checks
- If you're a qualified nurse (EN/RN or Nitec in Nursing), you'll also take on
- Venepuncture and blood collection for laboratory investigations
- Administering injections and vaccinations - IM, SC and intradermal - under the attending doctor's orders
- Front-line triage of walk-ins, including after-hours and overnight presentations, escalating to the doctor appropriately
- Health screening: pre-screening workups, phlebotomy and results follow-up
- Chronic disease support - patient education on medication use, diet, inhaler and insulin technique, home monitoring
- Assisting during acute and emergency presentations, and preparing patients for onward transfer
- Guiding and orienting new clinic assistants on clinical protocols
Front-of-house and administration
- Patient registration, appointment bookings, phone and email enquiries via the clinic system
- Coordinate patient flow to keep waiting times short
- Billing, cashiering and payment collection
- Prepare and submit TPA claims, and follow up on rejections or queries
- Maintain patient records accurately and confidentially, in line with PDPA requirements
- Advise patients on clinic services and health screening packages
- Stock and inventory management, and other duties as assigned
What we're looking for
- Minimum 1-2 years' experience in a clinic or healthcare setting
- Nursing qualification (Nitec in Nursing, Enrolled Nurse, Registered Nurse or equivalent) is a strong advantage - SNB registration is not required for this role, but if you hold a valid practising certificate we will make full use of your clinical skills
- Comfortable with clinic management systems, TPA portals and NEHR
- Accurate with dispensing, billing and record-keeping - you double-check rather than assume
- Composed under pressure, especially with a full waiting room or an unwell walk-in
- Able to communicate with patients across languages and dialects
- Valid CPR/AED certification preferred
