Job summary

Howden Insurance Brokers (S.) Pte. Limited, based in Singapore, is seeking a Senior Manager / Director for the Claims team. The role focuses on leading portfolio management, ensuring timely processing and guiding complex claim strategy.

You will mentor the team, collaborate with clients, insurers and internal stakeholders, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while driving claims process improvements within Howden's Asia Pacific footprint.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience handling General Insurance Claims.
• Legal qualification (LL.B. or equivalent) or substantial experience in insurance law.
• Strong understanding of legal and regulatory requirements governing General Insurance.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate cross-functionally.
• Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel).

• Manage a portfolio of general insurance claims with timely, accurate processing.
• Direct and oversee daily operations of the claims team to meet service targets.
• Advise on coverage and strategy for complex and major claims.

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage a portfolio of general insurance claims, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• To be able to assist in the directing and overseeing of daily operations of the claims team to meet operation & service requirements.
• To advocate for best claim outcome by providing coverage and strategy guidance to clients on complex and major claims.
• Provide mentoring and support to team members, sharing your experience and expertise.
• Collaborate with clients, insurers and internal stakeholders for claim resolutions
• Maintain accurate claims record and documentation as well as adhering to regulatory and compliance requirements
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development of claims management strategies
• Undertake any project or duties as assigned by management.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL BE:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in handling General Insurance Claims
• Possess a legal qualification (LL.B. or equivalent) and/or substantial experience in insurance law, policy interpretation, litigation management, and dispute resolution.
• Strong understanding of legal and regulatory requirements governing General Insurance.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex claims scenarios
• Able to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Strong customer service orientation and commitment to delivering exceptional client experience
• Good interpersonal skills – able to communicate well across organisational levels
• Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel) required.
