Job summary

SsangYong Engineering & Construction Co Ltd seeks an experienced C&S Assistant Manager to support civil and structural works for a major hospital project in Singapore. You will assist the C&S Manager with technical coordination, site execution and project delivery in line with drawings, specs and Singapore standards.

The role involves coordinating across disciplines, reviewing drawings and submissions, monitoring progress and ensuring quality, safety and timely delivery on site.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant civil and structural construction experience.
• Experience in large-scale building, institutional, healthcare or hospital projects preferred.
• Familiarity with Singapore codes, standards and authority requirements.
• Able to read and interpret civil/structural drawings and technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Assist the C&S Manager in managing and coordinating all civil and structural works for the hospital project.
• Coordinate C&S works with architectural, M&E and other disciplines for proper integration.
• Review drawings, specifications, method statements, shop drawings and submissions.

• Support in resolving technical issues and design coordination matters.
• Oversee shop drawings, material submissions, RFIs and method statements.
• Support quality assurance and safety requirements on site.
• Supervise C&S subcontractors and site teams.
• Attend technical coordination meetings and inspections with project parties.
• Maintain proper project documentation and progress reports.
• Assist in monitoring schedules, manpower and sequencing.

We are seeking an experienced C&S Assistant Manager to support the management and coordination of civil and structural works for a major hospital construction project in Singapore. The successful candidate will assist the C&S Manager in managing technical coordination, site execution, design coordination and project delivery in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the C&S Manager in managing and coordinating all civil and structural works for the hospital project.
• Coordinate C&S works with architectural, M&E and other project disciplines to ensure proper integration and timely execution.
• Review structural and civil drawings, specifications, method statements, shop drawings and technical submissions.
• Coordinate with consultants, architects, subcontractors and suppliers on technical and construction matters.
• Monitor site progress and ensure C&S works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and construction schedules.
• Assist in resolving technical issues, site constraints and design coordination matters.
• Coordinate and review shop drawings, material submissions, method statements and requests for information (RFIs).
• Assist in monitoring the quality of C&S works and ensure compliance with project specifications and relevant Singapore standards.
• Supervise and coordinate C&S subcontractors and site teams.
• Attend technical coordination meetings, site meetings and inspections with consultants and relevant project parties.
• Monitor inspection and testing requirements and ensure proper documentation of C&S works.
• Coordinate with the design team on design changes, construction details and technical clarifications.
• Assist the C&S Manager in monitoring project schedules, manpower requirements and construction sequencing.
• Identify potential delays and technical issues and assist in implementing appropriate solutions.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers, coordinators and site personnel where required.
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety, quality and environmental requirements.
• Prepare progress reports and maintain proper technical and project documentation.
• Perform other duties related to C&S works as assigned by the C&S Manager or Project Manager.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in civil and structural construction, preferably with a main contractor or consultancy firm.
• Experience in large-scale building, institutional, healthcare or hospital projects will be an advantage.
• Good knowledge of civil and structural construction methods, drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with Singapore construction practices, relevant codes, standards and authority requirements.
• Experience in coordinating consultants, subcontractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Able to read and interpret civil and structural drawings and technical documents.
• Familiarity with structural design concepts, Eurocodes and relevant Singapore requirements.
• Good knowledge of construction coordination, site supervision and technical submissions.
• Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and effectively coordinate with multiple project stakeholders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering/construction software.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration or relevant professional certification will be an advantage.
