Job summary

SMM Pte Ltd is seeking a Civil and Structural Resident Engineer in Singapore to oversee site supervision teams across disciplines. You will assist Qualified Persons under Building Control Regulations 2003 and ensure work aligns with drawings, specs and approved procedures.

You will review designs, manage construction quality, and coordinate with contractors. Experience with architectural finishing is valued; airport project exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent, recognized by professional bodies.
• Registered as Resident Engineer (C&S) with BCA/IES/ACES.
• At least 5 years of relevant site supervision experience in Singapore.

Responsibilities

• In charge of management and control of all Site Supervisors across disciplines.
• Assist supervising Qualified Persons to perform duties under Building Control Regulations 2003.
• Review project drawings and specifications, raise discrepancies before and during construction.
• Supervise construction and related works, ensure quality and compliance with specs, methods and procedures.
• Experience with architectural finishing/building works.
• Experience on projects in Changi/Seletar Airport is advantageous.

Job description

Civil and Structural Resident Engineer

a) Be overall in charge of the management and control of ALL Site Supervisors, including those of OTHER disciplines

b) Assist the supervising Qualified Person(s) to perform the duties as prescribed in the Building Control Regulations 2003;

c) Review all project drawings and specifications, and raise any discrepancies and/or possible problems before construction work commence on site and progressively throughout the entire course of the
project;

d) Supervise the construction and related works, maintain quality control and ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with the project specifications, drawings, approved sketches, product or system specifications, contractor's method statements, installation and working procedures

e) Experience in architectural finishing/building works;

f) Past experience with projects located within Changi and Seletar Airport will be advantageous

g) Good team player with ability to work independently and multi-task;

Requirements:

a) Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent or accreditation recognized by PEB Singapore;
b) Registered as Resident Engineer (C&S) with BCA/IES/ACES; and
c) Possess at least 5 years of relevant site supervision experience as a resident engineer in building or infrastructural construction sites in Singapore.
