About us

Since 2017 we've run a digital container haulage platform that connects shippers and freight forwarders with local trucking companies to coordinate first-mile land transportation, and we provide Transport Management Solutions to operators running their own fleets. We're based in Singapore, one of the busiest container ports in the world, in a domain where software still displaces a lot of phone calls, email, and PDFs.

About the role

Haulio's commercial, CS and finance teams still rely on spreadsheets, templates and manual handoffs that no longer scale. As Business Analyst, you will own how work flows between these teams and make it faster and less manual: redesigning and automating core processes, documenting how they work, and building the data foundation behind them so everyone shares one source of truth.

Job Descriptions

1. Process automation

• Map key processes across commercial, CS, finance and operations end to end, identify manual steps, bottlenecks and common sources of error, and prioritise what to automate
• Design, build and maintain automated workflows that use the data warehouse as the source of truth, with validation checks and a clear owner for each
• Roll out process changes with the affected teams, including training and follow-up, until the new way of working sticks
• Measure the impact of each automation (time saved, error rate, turnaround) and keep improving it
• Document current processes and share clear requirements with the Product Manager and QA when a change needs tech team support
• Current priorities include:
• Quotation and contract: generate quotations and contracts from templates with validation checks, so the commercial team can issue accurate quotes independently, and report on quote turnaround, accuracy and renewal pipeline
• Haulio Wiki: build SOPs and process guides around the job lifecycle, covering each stage, handoff and common exception between teams, with an owner and review date on every page. Structure content as a reliable source for automations and future AI agents, and test it against real questions from each team

2. Data foundation and warehouse

• Consolidate disconnected spreadsheets into our SQL-based data warehouse, so each customer or haulier can be traced across quotations, contracts and billing
• Map, clean and deduplicate data with the commercial, CS and finance teams, and maintain a data dictionary and validation rules
• Build and maintain Databricks pipelines that bring data from Haulio's platforms and finance systems into the warehouse, with data quality checks and monitoring
• Build reporting-ready datasets that power dashboards and the metrics teams use to run the business
• Work with the tech team on schema changes, access control and future integration with a CRM as the business scales

Requirements

We're looking for

• Business analysis. You can sit with a team, see how work actually gets done, and turn it into clear process maps and requirements that others can act on.
• SQL and data. Strong SQL, including joins, window functions and data modelling. You notice when numbers don't reconcile and chase down why.
• Process automation. You've built workflows that people rely on, using low-code tools (e.g. Power Automate, n8n, Zapier) or scripting (e.g. Python), and you design them with validation and failure handling in mind, not just the happy path.
• Documentation. You write SOPs, specs and guides that people actually use: structured, concise and kept current.
• Working across teams. You're comfortable moving between commercial, CS, finance and tech, translating between them, and pushing back when a request solves the wrong problem.
• AI-assisted work. You're fluent with tools like Claude or ChatGPT, or clearly ready to be: able to use them to analyse data, draft documents and build automations, and to check what comes back critically rather than accepting it.
• Degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. Business Process Analysis Process M
• Hands-on experience building data pipelines (Databricks, PySpark or similar) is a strong plus. Experience with BI tools (e.g. Power BI), CRM implementation, or LLM-based document and knowledge tools is a plus, not a requirement.
