You will map processes, define Epics and user stories, and collaborate with architects, developers, QA to ensure compliant, scalable solutions. Fluent English and cross-functional teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in logistics, maritime studies, IT, engineering, business or finance.
• 3-6 years of business analysis experience for BA role; 7-10+ years for Senior BA.
• Prior container liner shipping/ocean freight/maritime logistics domain knowledge is essential.
• Proficient in Agile/Scrum, Jira/Confluence, and process mapping tools.
• Excellent English communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Job description

We are looking for a Business Analyst / Senior Business Analyst with domain expertise in Maritime, Container Shipping, or Ocean Logistics.

In this role, you will work on enterprise transformation programs for leading ocean transport clients. You will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, analyzing operational workflows, defining functional requirements, and supporting the delivery of modern commercial, operations, and financial platforms.

Key Responsibilities

1. Requirements Management & Agile Delivery

• Conduct requirements discovery sessions and workshops with client business and operational stakeholders.
• Translate business needs into clear, structured Agile deliverables, including Epics, User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, and Functional Specifications.
• Manage and maintain the product backlog in collaboration with Product Owners and Project Managers.

2. Domain & Process Analysis

• Analyze and map end-to-end maritime and logistics workflows (As-Is vs. To-Be) using standard business process modeling tools.
• Gather requirements across key commercial and operational areas such as:
• Commercial bookings, documentation, and Bill of Lading (B/L) processing.
• Freight rating, tariff structures, and surcharge management.
• Demurrage & Detention (D&D) and equipment tracking workflows.
• Invoicing, billing, credit management, and payment reconciliation.
• Understand regulatory, local tax, and standard commercial compliance requirements relevant to international transport.

3. Solution Design & Technical Collaboration

• Collaborate with technical architects, software developers, and QA engineers to ensure functional requirements are accurately translated into system solutions.
• Understand high-level system integration touchpoints, including REST APIs, web services, and standard B2B logistics data exchanges (EDI).
• Work with data teams to review data mappings, interfaces, and validation rules across enterprise platforms.

4. Testing & Implementation Support

• Review test plans and scenarios to ensure complete coverage of functional requirements.
• Plan and facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business users and regional stakeholders; triage defects and manage resolutions.
• Support deployment activities, user training documentation, and operational rollout support.

Candidate Profile & Requirements

Education & Experience

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Any Discipline (Logistics, Maritime Studies, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or Finance preferred).
• Experience:
• Business Analyst: 3-6 years of business analysis experience.
• Senior Business Analyst: 7-10+ years of experience in business analysis or functional consulting.
• Domain Knowledge (Essential): Prior experience in Container Liner Shipping, Ocean Freight, Maritime Logistics.

Technical & Functional Skills

• Strong grasp of container shipping fundamentals (e.g., booking lifecycle, documentation, B/L, ocean surcharges, container demurrage/detention, and commercial billing).
• Proven experience in Agile / Scrum environments using tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Hands-on experience with process modeling tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, Miro).
• Working knowledge of SQL for basic data querying, analysis, and validation.
• Conceptual understanding of system integrations (APIs and EDI messaging standards).
• Familiarity with enterprise ERP or commercial back-office systems is an added advantage.
• Excellent verbal, written, and client-facing communication skills in English.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and workshop facilitation skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively with globally distributed and cross-functional teams.

• Business Analysis certifications: CBAP / CCBA (IIBA) or PMI-PBA.
• Scrum certifications: CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner) or CSM.
