Job summary

SEED SYSTEM PTE. LTD. is seeking a BIM Design Engineer to develop coordinated BIM models for data centre projects, bridging engineering input with digital modelling.

You will ensure accurate layouts, sizing, and cross-discipline coordination from design through construction. Responsibilities include building BIM models in Revit/Navisworks, performing coordination and clash detection, and producing deliverables and shop drawings for submission.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in mechanical, electrical, building services, or related field.
• Proficient in BIM software including Revit, Navisworks and AutoCAD.
• Basic understanding of MEP systems and data centre or industrial infrastructure.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specs and schematics.
• Familiar with multi-disciplinary coordination workflows.

Responsibilities

Job Purpose

The BIM Design Engineer is responsible for developing coordinated engineering designs and BIM models to support data centre, MEP, and infrastructure projects. This role bridges technical engineering input with digital modelling, ensuring accurate system layouts, sizing, and coordination across all disciplines to support project delivery from design through construction.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Engineering Support

• Develop detailed BIM models for mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing systems in accordance with project requirements and specifications.
• Perform basic engineering calculations, system sizing, and layout planning (e.g. piping, cable routing, equipment clearances).
• Support design development for systems such as liquid cooling, chilled water, power distribution, UPS, and auxiliary systems.
• Assist in reviewing design intent, technical drawings, and equipment data sheets.

2. BIM Modelling & Coordination

• Prepare and maintain coordinated BIM models (Revit or equivalent) across all project stages.
• Conduct clash detection and spatial coordination with internal teams and external consultants.
• Support coordination meetings and track design changes, comments, and resolutions.
• Ensure model accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project BIM standards.

3. Documentation & Deliverables

• Produce coordinated drawings, layouts, sections, and schedules for submissions.
• Maintain drawing registers, revision control, and document records.
• Support preparation of technical submissions, method statements, and as-built documentation.

4. Project & Stakeholder Support

• Liaise with project managers, site teams, consultants, and vendors to clarify technical requirements.
• Assist in resolving site queries and RFIs related to design and installation.
• Support site teams with shop drawing updates and coordination issues during construction.

5. Quality & Compliance

• Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Follow internal QA/QC procedures and BIM execution plans.
• Support continuous improvement of design standards and workflows.

Requirements & Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Diploma / Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, or related discipline.
• Proficient in BIM software (e.g. Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD).
• Basic understanding of MEP systems, data centre infrastructure, or industrial systems.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and schematics.
• Familiar with coordination processes and multi-disciplinary workflows.

Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in BIM modelling or engineering support roles.
• Experience in data centres, industrial facilities, or large-scale commercial projects is an advantage.
• Exposure to construction or site coordination is preferred.
