Job summary

The Software Engineer (User) role sits within the User Squad, delivering backend services for a high-visibility SEAO Ecommerce platform. You will help craft reliable, scalable systems to support 1.4 million monthly active users across Southeast Asia and Oceania.

You will report to the Engineering Manager and work on projects that directly affect customer lifetime value, retention, and personalized experiences.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience building production-grade backend applications using Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
• Strong proficiency with relational and non-relational databases, including PostgreSQL/MySQL and MongoDB.
• Solid understanding of the Java ecosystem: Hibernate, JDBC, Maven, and Gradle.
• Familiarity with event streaming (Kafka) and/or message queuing systems (RabbitMQ).
• Familiarity using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) to improve productivity and code quality.
• Familiarity with structured AI-assisted development practices
• Familiarity working in cloud environments such as AWS or GCP
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as VueJS or NuxtJS is a strong plus

• Delivering reliable user and loyalty experiences to the company’s customer base across the SEAO Ecommerce system
• Working on highly visible projects that directly impact customer lifetime value and retention
