Job summary

Sephora SEA is seeking a Software Engineer (User) to design and develop backend services for a high-visibility SEAO Ecommerce platform serving 1.4 million monthly active users. You will contribute to clean, scalable distributed architectures and deliver personalized experiences across Southeast Asia and Oceania.

You will work under the Engineering Manager on impactful projects that influence customer lifetime value and retention, collaborating with data and product teams to maintain high code

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience building production-grade backend applications using Java 17+ and Spring Boot
• Strong proficiency with relational and non-relational databases, including PostgreSQL/MySQL and MongoDB
• Solid understanding of the Java ecosystem: Hibernate, JDBC, Maven, and Gradle
• Familiarity with event streaming (Kafka) and/or message queuing systems (RabbitMQ)
• Familiarity using AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality
• Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS or GCP
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as VueJS or NuxtJS is a strong plus

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing robust backend services while building clean and scalable distributed systems
• Delivering reliable user and loyalty experiences to Sephora’s customer base across SEAO Ecommerce system
• Working on highly visible projects that directly impact customer lifetime value and retention
• Building and maintaining event-driven integrations across microservices
• Delivering personalized and localized experiences for users across various countries in the region
• Using modern AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality
