in Singapore seeks a Design/Coordination Engineer to lead technical coordination and design management on a Billion dollar D&B construction project. You will head a team of Design/Coordination Engineers, coordinating design drawings with consultants, ensuring compliance with authority regulations and project specifications, and acting as the key liaison between consultants, clients, contractors, and authorities on all design-related matters.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years in building construction or consulting.
• Strong knowledge of local codes, regulations, and methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical coordination and design management on construction projects.
• Manage Design/Coordination Engineers and coordinate with consultants.
• Act as liaison between consultants, clients, contractors and authorities.
• Prepare technical submissions, shop drawings, approvals, and method statements.
• Coordinate submissions to local authorities for timely approvals.
• Resolve design/technical issues with architectural and M&E teams and authorities.
• Raise RFAs/RFIs for design clarifications and evaluate value engineering proposals.

• Basic from $8,000 to $10,000 + Bonus

• Location: Redhill

Responsibilities

• Responsible in leading the technical coordination and design management aspects of construction projects.

• Lead and manage a team of Design/Coordination Engineers in coordinating design drawings with consultants, ensuring compliance with authority regulations and project specifications.

• Act as the key liaison between consultants, clients, contractors, and authorities on all design-related matters.

• Guide the team in preparing technical submissions, including shop drawings, material approvals, and method statements for construction.

• Coordinate and monitor submission processes to local authorities to ensure compliance and timely approvals.

• Lead the resolution of design and technical issues encountered during construction by liaising with Architectural and M&E teams, consultants, and relevant authorities.

• Review and address technical queries by raising Requests for Approval (RFA) and Requests for Information (RFI) to the relevant parties for design clarification.

• Initiate and evaluate value engineering proposals to enhance project delivery in terms of cost-effectiveness, safety, constructability, and quality.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

• Relevant experience in building construction for commercial, industrial, mixed development or high rise private residential projects, preferably with A1 main contractors.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in a construction or engineering consultancy environment.

• Strong knowledge of local building codes, authority regulations, and construction methodologies.
