is seeking an Assistant Proposal Engineer to support tendering and proposal development for smart building projects, combining technical know-how with commercial insight to deliver competitive bids. Key tasks include reviewing tender documents, preparing clear bid proposals, coordinating with Engineering, Projects and Sales, and performing cost estimation to support pricing accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documents to identify technical, commercial, and contractual requirements.
• Prepare and submit clear bid proposals meeting client specs and deadlines.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Projects and Sales to address clarifications.
• Perform cost estimation to support pricing accuracy.
• Source and evaluate supplier/subcontractor quotations for cost-effectiveness.
• Support pricing strategies through commercial discussions.
• Coordinate with Engineering for project handover and commercial support.
• Interpret specifications, drawings, and engineering docs for accuracy.
• Organize multiple tasks to meet tight tender schedules.
• Check and summarise cost calculations with attention to detail.
• Use Excel and Office to prepare and manage proposals.

Job Summary

Join Azbil Singapore as an Assistant Proposal Engineer to support in tendering and proposal development for smart building projects, combining technical expertise and commercial insight to deliver competitive bids and support project success.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyse tender documents to identify technical, commercial, and contractual requirements accurately
• Prepare and submit clear, competitive bid proposals that meet client specifications and deadlines
• Collaborate with Engineering, Projects, and Sales teams to address clarifications and post-submission queries effectively
• Perform detailed cost estimation for project scopes and deliverables to support pricing accuracy
• Source, evaluate, and manage quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effectiveness
• Support pricing strategies by engaging in commercial discussions and negotiations with stakeholders
• Coordinate with Engineering teams to facilitate smooth project handover and provide commercial support during execution
• Interpret technical specifications, drawings, and engineering documentation to ensure proposal accuracy
• Organize and prioritize multiple tasks to meet tight tender schedules efficiently
• Apply strong attention to detail when checking, analysing, and summarising cost calculations
• Utilize Microsoft Office, especially Excel, to prepare and manage proposal documents and data

Required competencies and certifications

• Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Ideally with relevant experience, preferably with exposure to HVAC and/or Building Management Systems (BMS)
• Strong interest in smart buildings, automation, and emerging building technologies
• Effective communication, writing, analytical, numerical, and negotiation skills
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and dependable work approach
• Meticulous and dedicated to details
• Comfortable multitasking and prioritizing work to meet deadlines
