Job summary

Swift Search Global Pte. Ltd. in Singapore is seeking an Assistant Manager – Quantity Surveying (Construction) to lead the QS team on construction projects from tendering through final accounts.

You will manage cost plans, monitor budgets, prepare tender documents, and coordinate with stakeholders to deliver commercial success. Relevant experience in pre- and post-contract QS functions and knowledge of Singapore contracts are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management or related.
• Relevant experience in Quantity Surveying within Singapore's construction industry.
• Experience handling both pre-contract and post-contract QS functions.
• Strong knowledge of tendering, cost estimation, cost planning, contract administration, progress claims, variation orders, cost control and final accounts.
• Experience leading or supervising a QS team would be advantageous.
• Experience working on HDB construction projects would be advantageous.
• Good knowledge of Singapore construction contracts, commercial practices and industry requirements.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, coordination and stakeholder-management skills.
• Able to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the Quantity Surveying team in contract administration, cost management, tendering and overall commercial matters for construction projects.
• Establish, implement and monitor project cost plans, budgets and cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review quantity take-offs, measurements and cost estimates to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Manage pre-contract and post-contract quantity surveying activities.
• Manage the tendering process, including preparation of tender documentation, tender analysis, evaluation and recommendations.
• Coordinate the bid proposal process, including gathering critical information, coordinating internal resources and preparing final bid submissions.
• Manage progress claims, subcontractor claims, variation orders and other contractual and commercial matters.
• Monitor project budgets, commitments, forecasts and overall project costs.
• Manage and facilitate the assessment and settlement of final accounts.
• Review contractual requirements and identify potential commercial and contractual risks.
• Liaise and maintain effective working relationships with project teams, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and other relevant stakeholders.
• Support the identification of potential business and project opportunities and contribute relevant commercial and market information.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and relevant subject-matter experts to support tender and project requirements.
• Provide guidance and support to members of the QS team to ensure timely and accurate completion of deliverables.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
