We are an established beauty company with a retail presence across Singapore and are looking for a hands‑on Assistant Manager/ Manager, Production & Business Development to join our team.
This is a dynamic role combining production and people management with exposure to the commercial side of the beauty business. The primary focus will be leading our productions team and ensuring smooth, efficient and quality‑driven operations. The role will also be involved in sales and business development activities, including promoting our beauty and personal care products and developing customer opportunities.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable managing both people and operations, while also engaging with customers and contributing to the growth of the business.
Oversee day‑to‑day production operations, including product preparation, filling, packing, labelling and finished goods handling.
Lead, supervise and develop the production team, including work allocation, manpower deployment, attendance and performance.
Plan and monitor production schedules to ensure timely completion while meeting product specifications and quality standards.
Ensure production operations comply with established SOPs, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), hygiene, workplace safety and quality requirements.
Monitor the proper handling and usage of raw materials, ingredients, packaging materials and finished products, including batch identification, stock and expiry controls.
Ensure production, batch, material usage and inventory records are accurate, complete and properly maintained.
Monitor product quality, operational efficiency, material wastage and resource utilisation, and drive practical improvements to factory processes.
Liaise with suppliers on raw materials, ingredients, packaging materials, product specifications, supporting documentation, delivery schedules and other operational requirements.
Coordinate with freight forwarders and logistics partners for local and overseas shipments, including the preparation and completion of required shipping and supporting documentation.
Support cosmetic product regulatory matters, including HSA product notifications, product documentation, labelling and other applicable regulatory requirements.
Review and understand cosmetic ingredients, product formulations, specifications and relevant technical information to support product quality, regulatory and operational requirements.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, housekeeping and organisation across factory, packing and storage areas, and support stock counts, GMP inspections, quality audits and corrective and preventive actions where required.
Promote and sell the company's beauty and personal care products to customers and potential business clients.
Identify and follow up on sales opportunities, customer enquiries and potential business leads.
Build and maintain positive customer relationships and understand their product requirements.
Present and recommend suitable products based on customer needs and provide relevant product information.
Participate in company promotions, product launches, roadshows, events and other sales activities where required.
Work closely with retail outlets and internal teams to understand product demand, customer feedback and market requirements.
Coordinate with the factory team to ensure product availability and timely fulfilment of customer and sales requirements.
Contribute towards sales targets and other business objectives as assigned by Management.
Diploma or Degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business Management or a related discipline; candidates with relevant practical experience may also be considered.
Relevant experience in factory, production or operations management, preferably with supervisory or team leadership responsibilities.
Experience in the beauty, cosmetics, personal care, retail or related industry will be an advantage.
Good understanding of production planning, inventory control, product quality and day‑to‑day factory operations.
Knowledge of GMP, hygiene, workplace safety and production documentation requirements is preferred.
Strong people‑management and leadership skills, with good planning, problem‑solving, organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable engaging with customers and participating in sales and business development activities.
Hands‑on, adaptable and able to work effectively across factory operations, suppliers, logistics, retail and customer‑facing activities.
