Job summary

MINDEF seeks an experienced professional to manage the inventory management system for ammunition logistics. You will lead system operations, ensure data integrity, and generate analyses to support decision-making across the Singapore Armed Forces.

The role involves coordinating a small team, collaborating on the development of a new tracking system, and mastering the integration of legacy systems with current processes. Strong Excel skills and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in ERP software management, supply chain, and data management.
  • Experience in logistics or ammunition management is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including designing and running macros for data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all matters relating to the inventory management system.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy within the inventory management system.
  • Generate reports, perform data analysis, and recommend enhancements to management for decision-making.
  • Contribute to development of a new inventory tracking system and optimising inventory control procedures.
  • Lead a team of up to four NSmen, providing coaching, guidance, task assignment and performance appraisals.
  • Interpret and analyse large volumes of data and integrate legacy systems with the inventory system.
  • Understand ammunition supply management processes to improve inventory transaction systems.

Job description

What the role is:

You will assist in managing the main IT system for ammunition inventory management, ensuring system operational readiness. You will govern and manage ammunition-related transactions and material data to provide efficient and prompt service to users across the Singapore Armed Forces.

What you will be working on:
  • Lead and manage all matters relating to the inventory management system
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy within the inventory management system
  • Utilise system modules to generate reports, run data analysis, and recommend enhancements to management for decision-making
  • Contribute to the development of a new inventory tracking system for optimising inventory control procedures
  • Lead a team of up to four full-time national servicemen, providing coaching, guidance, task assignment, and performance appraisals
  • Take on secondary appointments as requiredChallenge(s)
  • Interpreting and analysing large volumes of data
  • Understanding the complexities of integrating legacy systems with the inventory management system
  • Developing a strong understanding of ammunition supply management processes to improve inventory transaction systems
What we are looking for:
  • Education in any field is preferred
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in enterprise resource planning software management, supply chain management, and data management
  • Prior experience in logistics or ammunition management will be an advantage
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to design and run macros for data analysis
  • Good communication, time management, and organisational skills
  • Meticulous with strong attention to detail
