Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in HRM, BA or related discipline.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with HRIS/payroll systems.

ASSISTANT MANAGER, HUMAN RESOURCES
BASIC FUNCTION

Reporting to the HR Manager, the Assistant HR Manager is responsible for supporting and overseeing the day‑to‑day Human Resources operations of the Hotel. The role provides HR guidance and support to Managers and associates, while ensuring compliance with hotel policies, procedures and prevailing employment legislation.

The incumbent will take an active role in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, employee welfare, HR administration and engagement initiatives. The role is also responsible for supporting the development and implementation of HR initiatives that contribute to the Hotel's business objectives and foster a positive working environment.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the HR Manager in overseeing the full spectrum of HR functions and daily HR operations and ensure HR services are delivered effectively and efficiently.
  • Work closely with Department Heads and Managers on recruitment and selection to ensure the Hotel is adequately staffed according to business requirements.
  • Source, screen and interview candidates and ensure recruitment activities are conducted in accordance with approved manpower budgets, salary ranges and prevailing employment regulations.
  • Coordinate the onboarding of new employees and ensure a smooth and effective joining experience.
  • Coordinate employee confirmation, transfer, promotion, resignation and other employee lifecycle processes.
  • Ensure employee records, HR systems and personnel documentation are accurate, updated and maintained in accordance with statutory and Hotel requirements.
  • Administer compensation and benefits matters, including salary offers, promotions, salary adjustments, employee benefits, medical and insurance matters in accordance with established policies and guidelines.
  • Coordinate the annual performance appraisal and salary review exercises and work with Managers to ensure timely and effective completion.
  • Provide guidance and advice to Department Heads and Managers on HR policies, performance management, employee relations, disciplinary matters and other employment‑related issues.
  • Handle employee grievances, counselling and workplace concerns professionally and confidentially and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Support the handling of disciplinary cases, investigations and inquiry sessions, where required, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with Hotel policies and applicable legislation.
  • Maintain a professional and harmonious relationship with the Union and assist in the handling of industrial relations matters, grievances and disputes.
  • Coordinate employee engagement, welfare and recreational activities to promote a positive and motivating working environment.
  • Monitor staff facilities and welfare arrangements, including the staff cafeteria, and work with relevant departments to address issues and improvements.
  • Keep abreast of changes in employment legislation and ensure HR policies and practices remain compliant with prevailing laws and regulations.
  • Assist in the development, review and implementation of HR policies, procedures, guidelines and practices.
  • Monitor manpower levels, staff turnover, absenteeism and other HR statistics and prepare monthly reports for Management.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, workforce productivity and operational efficiency, and coordinate the implementation of approved initiatives.
  • Provide guidance, coaching and support to HR team members.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all employees and company information and exercise professionalism and sound judgement when handling sensitive matters.
  • Perform other HR duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 4–5 years hands‑on relevant HR experience, preferably in the hospitality.
  • Good knowledge of Singapore employment legislation and HR practices.
  • Strong experience in recruitment, employee relations, performance management and general HR operations.
  • Experience in handling disciplinary and industrial relations matters would be an advantage.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with associates at all levels.
  • Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with HRIS/payroll systems.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Mature, professional and discreet in handling confidential employee matters.
