Qualifications

• recognised degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in structural engineering, steel structure construction or fabrication projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of structural steel design, connection details and fabrication processes.
• Proficient in engineering and design software.
• Familiar with relevant structural design codes, industry standards and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage engineering activities for projects, including design coordination, fabrication and site installation.
• Lead the review and coordination of structural drawings, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, connection details and engineering calculations.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors and internal project teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Provide technical guidance and engineering solutions to resolve design discrepancies, structural issues and site-related challenges.
• Manage engineering submissions, technical documentation, method statements and approval processes to ensure timely delivery.
• Monitor engineering progress, project schedules and deliverables, ensuring compliance with project specifications and requirements.
• Liaise with procurement and fabrication teams to ensure engineering requirements are aligned with material specifications and fabrication schedules.
• Oversee steel fabrication and installation activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, quality standards and safety requirements.
• Assist the project team in supervising engineering personnel, allocating resources and providing technical guidance to team members.
• Support project management in evaluating design variations, technical claims, cost implications and other engineering-related matters.

Job Role

The Assistant Engineering Manager (Steel Structure) is responsible for overseeing and managing the engineering and technical aspects of projects, ensuring that all engineering designs, fabrication drawings, construction methodologies and installation activities comply with project specifications, structural requirements and relevant industry standards.

The role involves leading engineering coordination, overseeing design development, managing technical submissions, providing engineering solutions and coordinating with clients, consultants, subcontractors and site teams to ensure the successful execution and delivery of projects within the stipulated timeline, budget and quality requirements.

• Proficient in engineering and design software.
• Familiar with relevant structural design codes, industry standards and statutory requirements.
• Able to review and interpret structural drawings, engineering calculations, fabrication drawings and technical specifications.
